Oh, the dreaded "About Me" section...it is always so hard to write about yourself!

I'm a wife to my ever-supportive husband Jeremy, a mommy to my daughter Ava and son Drew, and an 8th grade language arts teacher in Perry Township. Photography is something I've always loved, but my passion did not take off by leaps and bounds until after Ava was born. I felt frustrated that I wasn't getting good pictures of her with our simple point-and-shoot camera. I wanted to start a blog, get a DSLR and editing software, and see what happened...

Lo and behold, photography became an obsession. I took lots of classes, read tutorials online, watched videos, and most of all - got out my camera and used it every single day. What started out as a way to take better pictures of my kid eventually evolved into a business. Newborns are my FAVORITE subjects, but I also love photographing expecting mamas, children, families, and couples. I try to use all natural light as much as possible, even in my home studio!

Other things I love: Starbucks, vacations at the beach, all genres of music, reading on my Kindle, spending time with my family, my kids, and my friends, cooking, shopping, dancing, and chocolate.

Newborn Mentoring with Sarah-Beth Photography {Indianapolis, IN}

Something I have wanted to do for a LONG time is sign up for a mentoring session with a fellow photographer. I had been following Sarah’s work on Facebook for quite some time and finally decided to just.do.it.

I am SO GLAD I did!

I met Sarah at her studio downtown and she showed me her routine for setting up a newborn session. When our precious baby girl model arrived, Sarah set to work showing me various poses and set-ups. She allowed me to watch her pose the baby and then we each took pictures at different angles. At a later date, we went over some editing and she was so kind to share a few secrets with me that will FOR SURE help with my own post-processing.

Sarah is awesome. Simply put. I absolutely loved learning from her, chatting and getting to know each other, and bonding over our similar style of photography.
